My first stuffed animal as a child was not a teddy bear but a soft white poodle and I can remember

being captivated by the dancing, prancing poodles on the Ed Sullivan Show ( I know, Ed WHO? ).

I acquired my first apricot toy in 1970.  I named him Spenser and he was as smart, loving,

and loyal a companion as anyone could find.  He was my best friend for over 16 years.

I became a groomer because of my love for poodles and now enjoy sharing that love

through breeding as well as grooming.  Our goal is to create, elegant, intelligent,

richly-coated, type poodles with sound minds and bodies.

Q - How much does it cost to get my dog groomed ?

A - That answer depends on many factors, including but not limited to : type of dog, hair style choice, condition of the coat and / or skin,

behavior of the dog during grooming, and age of the dog.  Each grooming is customized based on these factors.

Q - When should my dog be groomed ?

A - The ideal time for puppy's first grooming is between 3 and 4 months of age.  Dogs are not fearful of strangers at this age and will be

more receptive to being handled by a new friend.

Q - Why should I have my dog groomed, I can give him a bath myself ?

A - A professional grooming will help keep your pet in tip top shape.  Your groomer can point out problems you might not notice and help

     with solutions to those problems.

Q - How often should my dog be groomed ?

A - That answer depends on the above features as well.  The range is from bi-monthly to maintain that freshly groomed look for full-coated

styles to monthly for poodles, bichon frise, etc...  to every three to four months for many terriers.  A rule of thumb, the longer more

complex the style the more often he needs to be groomed.

At Mink's we are equally happy to groom the "designer" dogs that have become so popular.

Can you guess what breed this little guy is?
